Commission to celebrate Coronation

Grahame Davies was commissioned to write the words for a choral piece to celebrate the Coronation by American composer Peter Boyer to be performed by the Ora Singers conducted by Suzi Digby at St Paul's Church Covent Garden on May 3rd, as part of the build-up to the Coronation.

The piece, entitled Today We Ask, it was performed along with pieces by the Master of the King's Music, Judith Weir, Paul Mealor and John Rutter, all of whom had been commissioned to write pieces for the Coronation ceremony itself and all of whom were present for the performance at St Paul's.  The evening was introduced by Simon Callow.
